Incogni review : the solution to regain your privacy (+ influencer promo codes -60%)

In this article, I'm testing out a brand-new tool from the team behind NordVPN called Incogni. I'll also go over customer reviews and finish up by sharing a few tips on how to save money on your Incogni subscription.

What's a Data Broker?

A data broker is a business that collects, aggregates, and sells personal data about individuals. These companies specialize in gathering massive amounts of information from various sources, such as online purchases, social media activity, subscriptions, public records, and more.

What's a People Search Site?

People search sites are companies that collect personal data, compile it into personal profiles, and then either sell or publicly list those profiles online. Users can look up individuals with very little information --- sometimes just a name --- and gain access to a wide range of personal details like addresses, phone numbers, job history, religious and political views, hobbies, interests, family connections, associates, and more.

My Personal Opinion on Incogni

Before you get started, you'll need to pick a plan and subscribe to Incogni. On their pricing page, you'll find two different subscription options with everything they include.

Further down, you'll see user reviews --- which are overwhelmingly positive --- as well as endorsements from well-known American influencers (Philip DeFranco, Johnny Harris, and Legal Eagle) and major tech media outlets like TechRadar, Comparitech, and Business Insider.

Let's take a look at the two plans offered by Incogni.

The Individual Plan

This is the basic plan most people will choose. It grants one user access to Incogni's services.

You can choose between two payment options:

• Monthly payment: $14.98/month, or $179.76 per year
• Annual payment: $7.49/month, billed yearly at $89.88 --- that's a 50% savings ⚡️

The Friends & Family Plan

This plan is just like the individual one, except you can invite up to 4 additional people.
You can choose between:

• Monthly payment: $32.98/month, or $395.76 per year
• Annual payment: $16.49/month, billed yearly at $197.88 --- a 50% discount compared to the monthly plan ⚡️

It's a great money-saving hack --- you can split the cost with family or friends 👍

Once you've chosen your subscription plan, you can move on to the next step.

The site will first ask for your personal details like your full name, email addresses, and physical address. To finalize your registration, Incogni asks you to create a signature so they can handle requests on your behalf. You can either generate one using your full name or upload an image of your actual signature.

Features

Once you've signed up, you'll land on your dashboard. From here, you can track the progress of your data removal requests with the data brokers. On my end, 10 days after creating my account, 29 out of 44 requests had already been processed.

💡 As soon as you create your account, all requests are automatically sent out. Some get processed in seconds, while others can take several weeks --- even months. No need to pay legal or processing fees to enforce your rights!

Further down your dashboard, you'll find other useful data like time saved (compared to handling requests yourself) and a list of the most recent data brokers that have deleted your info.

If you're curious and want to dive deeper, there's a detailed view where you can see every data broker and track the status of each request.

This list includes key info such as:

• Compliance score: indicates whether the broker complies with legal requirements. Some brokers can be slow or difficult, but Incogni automatically follows up.
• Severity rating: gives an idea of the risks of leaving your data with that broker.

For even more details, you can click on each broker to view all related info.

As you can see, you'll find details like:

• The exact status of your request
• Average processing time
• A description of the broker
• Associated risks: In addition to the severity rating, you can view a list of all potential risks if your data remains with that broker. This list heavily influences the severity score.

That said --- most users probably won't dive this deep, as it doesn't really add much value to the main service. One small downside, in my opinion, is that the site and emails are only available in English, which might be a barrier for French speakers who aren't comfortable with the language.

Incogni Customer Review Analysis

Now let's take a look at what customers are saying about Incogni in their own reviews. The company has over 1,854 reviews with an average rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars, including 71% 5-star reviews. The advantage of using a third-party review site like Trustpilot is that you know the reviews are verified and written by people who've actually tried the product. So what are customers really saying? 🤔

According to users, the most appreciated aspects of Incogni are:
